URGENT TASK – UNDERSTANDING VIEWS IN WINDCHILL

As part of the BWT project, it is essential to understand how Views work in PTC Windchill, especially:

Design View
Engineering View
Service View

Objective of the Task

Develop a practical understanding of:

The role of each View
The differences between Views
The impact of Views on BOMs
Use cases in a project context

Work to be Performed

1. Creation and Configuration
   Create a test part
   Create at least two Views:
   Engineering View
   Service View
2. BOM Manipulation
   Create a separate BOM in each View
   Modify the structures to observe:
   Addition/removal of components
   Differences between Views
   Verify whether changes in one View impact the other
3. Testing and Exploration

Test the following functionalities:

Switching between Views
Structure comparison
Version management (if applicable)
Behavior of View-specific attributes
4. Analysis

Provide clear answers to the following questions:

What is the purpose of each View?
When should Engineering vs Service be used?
Can different BOMs exist for the same product?
What are the impacts on product management?
5. Expected Deliverable (MANDATORY)
