The project mainly concerns the migration of CAD Documents and their associated structures, including table families, from Windchill 9.1 to Windchill 12.1.

Input:

Source database dump;
Target database backup.

Due to the age of the source version (Windchill 9.1), no standard PTC tool is available to perform a complete and reliable data extraction.

The extraction process will therefore be carried out using our internal tools.

Within this scope, only the latest object versions (max-versions) will be taken into consideration.

We are aware that this type of extraction may introduce various data consistency and integrity issues.

For this reason, a second analysis phase, based directly on the physical CAD files, will be introduced in order to complement the metadata-based analysis.

This approach will help define a reliable methodology to:

Identify corrupted files;
Detect structural inconsistencies;
Secure the migration process.
